Annotative Text
« on: October 18, 2007, 12:38:46 PM »
So I decided to jump into using Annotative Text for the first time. I made an Annotative Text Style and created text objects on that style. I go to paperspace and I see no text. What the? After looking in the help file and butting heads with it for a while I hover my cursor over the little button in the status bar that looks like a triangular snowflake out of curiousity. Sure enough there's a setting I hadn't come across as of yet in the help file: Annotation Visibility. Problem is with this variable set to Show Annotation objects for Current Scale Only my text wasn't displaying even though (as far as I can tell) the annotation objects I had created were for the current scale. If I set it to Show Annotation objects for All Scales then it shows up.
My style is set to Annotative and the paper size to 0.1 and my dwg scale to 1:20. My viewport also is set to 1:20. My annotation scale is set at 1:20 as well. Have I done this incorrectly?

To further my confusion...
With the first text I created it in modelspace and then it didn't show up in paperspace as outlined in the previous post...
Now I went into paperspace, activated the viewport, created text on the annotative text style and when I go back into modelspace it doesn't show up there...???

Was the VPORT size also part of your Scale List?

Scale List
Displays the list of currently defined scales. Also displays temporary scales that are imported when xrefs are attached. If a scale name is duplicated, but has a different value, a number is appended to the name.

scalelistedit (or 'scalelistedit for transparent use)
Controls the list of scales available for layout viewports, page layouts, and plottting.

If it isn't any better in the AM send me a file with that bad text in it to look at.
