Alignment Styles migration
« on: October 17, 2007, 03:57:55 PM »
This is a bit embarrassing, but I'm trying to get Alignment Styles migrated from one .dwg to another. I have moved the alignment label styles and such by clickndrag, but I can't seem to remember how to get the main alignment object style in there. I don't see it in the settings > alignments tree. I think I am coming down with a bad case of Alzheimer's.
Someone please...

remember this is going to require a few more clicks and drags to get them all over there, into the destination drawing AND if you didn't save your Label Sets with a Unique name they may not show up in the style.

So be sure to Get the Alignment Style, and the Label Sets, and Styles and then all should work as expected.  It isn't appearent that one must save the Label Sets in order for a drag and drop to be possible.

I don't even see the Alignment Style in the tree list. I see the label sets, station, station offset, line, curve, spiral, and tangent intersection.
Where is the actual Alignment Style hiding?

No need to delete the thread, the lesson learned is to master the Settings Tab of the Toolspace, keeping in mind that it has four Modes

Master View: best used to move lots of settings between open files

Active Drawing Settings Only: Best Used to Set the Feature Settings and Styles of the current active drawing

Active Drawing Label Only View: Best Used to Set the Label Styles in the current active drawing

Label Only View: (Should Read Master View Labels) Best Used to Set the Label Styles in multiple Open Drawings (Drag and Drop)

The idea being an attempt to limit the input choices to a single type, style, or settings, perhaps to reduce operator error.
